commentary: The Priddy's Hard, Frater and Bedenham Railway was laid 1912-13. It connected with the LSWR (Bishopstoke to Gosport branch railway), crossed the Gosport-Fareham road at a level crossing by the main gate of Frater Depot, and served Bedenham Depot, and Priddy's Hard Royal Naval Armaments Depot.
(My best guess for the LSWR connection is SU58880245.)

The line used 0-4-0 fireless steam locos from Andrew Barclay and Co, Kilmarnock, which charged themselves from one of the boiler houses on site. There was at least on ordinary 0-4-0 steam loco. Thees were followed by diesel locos from the Hunslet Engine Co, Andrew Barclay and Co, Ruston and Hornsby, F C Hibberd and Co, and Baguley and Drewry. The line ran 2 battery passenger railcars, from Greenwood and Batley, and Ransom, Sims and Jeffries. And a diesel railcar from E E Baguley. Stock inlcuded wagon bought secondhand, and a travelling steam crane.
